Zheng Gu Shui
•  Anti-inflammatory, reduces blood stagnation, promotes healing
•  Best applied with a cotton ball
•  Excellent all-purpose liniment for use during needling, with or without moxa or hot packs, and after manual therapies to reduce rebound swelling
•  Activates other formulas
•  Makes heat hotter and cold colder
•  Use with bruises, swelling, sprains, strains, fractures, tendonitis, bursitis, herniations, sciatica, nerve pain, neuropathies
•  For trauma and post-surgical care – keep it out of open wounds
Wu Family Formula
• Reduces qi and blood stagnation, warming
• Can be applied with cotton ball or your hand
• Excellent for bruises and swelling
• Excellent for bi syndrome, especially cold bi with swelling, in the small joints
Lobelia Tincture
•  Excellent for nerve pain
•  May be taken internally as well as used externally
•  Add a couple drops to the cotton ball containing other liniments
•  Lobelia makes Zheng Gu Shui more effective; and Zheng Gu Shui makes the effect of Lobelia last longer
Lomatium Tincture
•  Powerful antibiotic, anti-viral, anti-fungal
•  Available as capsules, alcohol tincture, glycerin tincture, and lozenges
•  I recommend that you not use the alcohol tincture with viral infections unless you have been using the capsules already. If you experience an itchy rash with the alcohol tincture, use dandelion capsules or tea internally and topically, and calamine lotion or arnica.
Shiling Oil
•  Reduces qi and blood stagnation, more warming than Wu
•  Add to Zheng Gu Shui on cotton ball, or apply directly to skin
•  Works very well with Zheng Gu Shui to warm cold joints and reduce deep spasms
Po Sum On Oil
•  Moves qi and blood, warming than Wu
•  Apply directly to skin
•  Works very well with or without Zheng Gu Shui for manual therapies on cold joints and spasms in soft and stiff tissues
Tendon and Ligament Liniment
•  Moves qi and blood in the stiff tissues
•  Reduces swellings and stagnations in the stiff tissues
•  Helps acupuncture and manual therapies reach the deeper levels with less effort and less rebound
Trauma Liniment
•  Acute sprains, strains, bruises
•  Can be used instead of ice
•  Cleans and moves the blood
•  Reduces swelling and stagnation in injured tissue
•  Works very well to reduce rebound from acupuncture and manual therapies
Spring Wind Amber Massage Salve
•  Reduces qi and blood stagnation, warming
•  Apply small quantity directly on skin with your fingers, and work well into soft tissues
•  Blends very well with any of the other liniments & salves
•  Excellent for working out superficial or deep spasms
•  Use after needling (especially when the needling has been strenuous) to break up remaining knots and gnarls; OK to do focused, strenuous needling after it has been applied
•  Use during manual work to enhance effectiveness
Comfrey & Plantain Salve
•  Promotes superficial and deep tissue healing
•  Apply small quantity directly on skin with your fingers
•  Apply after manual work, especially on joints; works very well after Amber Massage Salve has been used
•  Excellent for restoring elasticity to tendons & ligaments – use friction massage until the area becomes hot
Comfrey & Oak Paste
•  Very similar to Comfrey & Plantain Salve but does not heat up as quickly
•  Reduces pain of bi syndromes
•  Excellent for bruises – do not use friction massage for bruises
•  People who are allergic to nuts cannot use this formula – use Comfrey & Plantain Salve instead
Ré-Leve Pain Cream
•  Excellent, strong anti-inflammatory made with 7% emu oil
•  Apply directly to skin with your fingers at the end of treatment to reduce rebound swelling; may be used regardless of what else you have already applied
•  Excellent for sprains, strains, tendonitis, bursitis, herniated discs, sciatica, nerve pain, neuropathies, bi syndromes
•  Also available in a thinner, lighter formula containing 4% emu oil and geranium oil. Also excellent at the end of treatment. Ask for Footlube.
Arnica Gel or Cream
•  Homeopathic anti-inflammatory, very cooling
•  Apply directly to skin with fingers
•  Combines well with the other liniments and salves
•  Arnica tablets are also available for internal use.
Salt Soaks
•  Reduce inflammation, spasms, edema, and pain
•  Very useful for preventing or treating rebound reactions after massage or acupuncture
CAUTIONS:
• Anyone with an iodine allergy should NOT bathe in sea salts. Iodine occurs naturally in all sea salts. Use only the Epsom salts and baking soda.
• Salt baths should be limited to 20 minutes, 3 or 4 times per week.
• Rinse off the salt water with clean water before getting out of the tub. Do not rub the salt water into your skin, and do not let it dry on your skin.
