East Point Associates, Ltd., is a group practice offering acupuncture, body work, therapeutic massage, qi gong practice, and acupuncture continuing education.
Our office manager is Maria McDonald. She keeps everything organized and on track, but she works a variable schedule, so be sure to leave a message if we do not answer the phone right away. Someone will return your call as soon as possible.
Mary J. Rogel, Ph.D., L.Ac., is the owner of the practice and has been practicing acupuncture since 1986. Her main focus is orthopedics and structural alignment, which she treats with a combination of needle and non-needle therapies, including Acutonics™ tuning forks and Chinese medical qi gong exercises. She finds that many problems are rooted more or less in structural issues, even many problems that are considered internal medicine. Mary tries to remain aware of the influence of the brain on how we use our bodies, and to incorporate principles of brain neuroplasticity in her treatments and rehab suggestions. She also tries to incorporate the new information about the “second brain,” the microbiome, and its impact on everything from digestion and immunity to emotions.
Devra S. Helgert, LCMT, has been practicing therapeutic massage since 2004. She specializes in Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage, and also offers Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD). Devra is certified in pregnancy massage and offers a discount to students with valid ID.
Kathleen C. Hanold, R.N., M.S., L.Ac., has been practicing acupuncture since 2010. She brings to her practice more than 30 years of nursing experience. Her clinical interests include pain management, stress reduction, cancer, surgery and procedure preparation, stroke rehabilitation, degenerative vision problems, women’s health, primary wellness, addictions, and digestive disorders. She uses cold laser to treat pain, and she is trained in Mei Zen facial rejuvenation, a system treating beauty from the inside out.
